Log Into FrontPage 2000
It is important that you are connected to the Internet before you begin.
1. In FrontPage, select Open Web from the File menu.
2. In the "Folder Name" field, type in the full path of the FrontPage web.
Example: http://yourdomain.com/
3. Click the OPEN button on the right.
4. In "Enter Network Password," type your account name (yourname.com) under "User Name" and your password into the password field.
5. Click OK.
6. Select the web you wish to access and click OPEN.
You should now have access to your files through FrontPage 2000.
Make a Backup of Your FrontPage Site
(PLEASE NOTE: FrontPage extensions must be installed in order for this function to work.)
1) Open your FrontPage program.
2) Click "File" and choose "Import."
3) In the window that pops up, please designate where you wish to place the information on your local computer. Input this information into the box titled "Specify the location of the web". Include the full path of where this is to be located on your hard drive. For example, you might insert something like:
C:\backup
Now click "OK."
4) The next window asks where you wish to import the information from. Please enter the name of the FrontPage web. For example:
http://domainname.com
This will then import all of the information from that web onto your local machine.

How to Edit Your FrontPage Web Live on the Web Server
1) Open your FrontPage program.
2) Click "File" and choose "Open Web."
3) In the box titled "Folder Name" enter your domain name. The information will look like this:
http://domainname.com
If your domain name has not been completely registered and propagated yet, then you will need to use your IP number in this field.This number was supplied in your confirmation email. The IP number will be in this format:
000.000.000.000
Now click the "Open" button to connect to the server.
4) When prompted, enter your username (domainname.com) and password.
5) Begin to edit pages and create your website. To save your work click "File" and choose either "Save" or "Save As." After saving your work you will be able to see your new pages on the Internet.
NOTE: Please remember that you are logged into the server and that is where the changes are being made. The changes have not been made to your local computer. Also, please do not publish to the server while logged in live because this will most likely result in the corruption of your FrontPage extensions.
6) When you have completed all of your changes, click "File" and choose "Close Web."
How to Publish to a FrontPage Web Server with Extensions Installed
1) Open your FrontPage program.
2) Click "File" and choose "Open Web."
3) Locate the web that you have created on your hard drive by using the "Look In" box. If you have not yet created a web, then you will not be able to publish. To create a FrontPage web on your computer, click "File" and choose "New Web."
4) Highlight the web that you wish to publish, and click "Open."
5) Now click "File" again and choose "Publish Web." A window will appear asking for the destination of this web. Please enter:
